Hudson Piano House

Best Project of Building or Facility by Student

About the project
The project's objective is to bring back to life Argentina's first malting building. We decided to turn it into a music conservatory, while keeping most of the original structure. We wanted the building to be related with it's use, so we decided to implement piano-shaped plan.
The auditorium is half buried, and it's connected with the main building by a ramp, that leeds to the main entrance. This space, is linked with the library by an art exposition hall. The auditorium also has a green roof, and indirect sunlight, creating an interesting atmosphere. The auditorium's roof creates a public space that generates a bar area above the library, creating a bridge between the auditorium and the music school building.
The Piano House interacts with nature, by creating a large public park, that harmonizes with the industrial surroundings.
