About the project (provided by the applicant)
The urban structure in northern Iran, once characterized by large plots and houses in the middle of them, has shifted to smaller plots due to increased population and land prices. This has destroyed the space for outdoor activities and the local lifestyle. To preserve the area's heritage, the project aimed to raise the building mass and free up the ground for outdoor activities, maximizing land use to form a yard. With this decision, the building pilot's space became a habitable place for outdoor activities. To create habitable outdoor space with privacy, we used movable curtains as a familiar facade element in this area.It is hoped that this alternative will be an efficient solution in defining the proportions and the relationship between the building mass and the yard space to preserve the yard and the ground floor of the northern houses in order to continue the life of the traditional activities of the region in the new conditions and division of the urban structure.

Narrative Place studio is a place where assumptions are challenged. This leads to a new perspective on subjects, allowing us to understand phenomena and events differently from their initial nature. Narrative means how these events are represented. In fact, with architectural tools, we showcase various aspects of experiences and, with this approach, shape the events around us.
