Project
Ars Vivendi. Frans Snyders and Seventeenth-Century Flemish Still Lifes
Category
Best Implemented Project of Temporary or Permanent Museum Exposition
About the project (provided by the applicant)
A temporary Ars Vivendy exhibition located in two main showrooms of the Winter Palace, the Rotunda, and the Great Nicholas Hall, required certain planning solutions. The feature of this project is the artistic take on the Baroque style ensured by up-to-date means. The authors managed to create a mystical dramatic spirit by juxtaposing the Baroque playful nature with the classical austerity of the Nicholas Hall. The symbolic language of still lives from the 17th century can be easily read in this atmosphere of a European carnival with its outer vividness and the inner dramatic spirit.
