About the project (provided by the applicant)
eCone is a flexible electric fueling station designed for a sustainable & connected future transforming the traditional refueling experience by combining clean energy, modularity & social interaction.Featuring a radial glulam canopy inspired by the natural form of a cone, eCone provides a compact yet efficient space for up to 22 EVs to charge. The modules allow for adaptation into various layouts to suit different locations & needs.
The roof is equipped with walkable solar panels that harness sunlight to power the facility, while integrated heating panels manage snow and collect rainwater. The inner courtyard provides a welcoming space for relaxation with amenities such as a coffee shop, market & workspaces, fostering a vibrant community for EV users.
eCone not only optimizes energy use but also enhances the journey experience. It’s a hub for both practical needs & social connections, setting a new standard for roadside rest stops & embodying the future of sustainable travel.
