About the project (provided by the applicant)
The idea to create the Bathhouse/Forum came to Nikolay Polissky in 2003 during the Art-Klyazma festival, where he, alongside the residents of Nikola-Lenivets art village, crafted a structure with transparent walls. This bathhouse quickly captured public attention and curiosity. In its new iteration, the walls remain transparent, transforming participants into both students and performers, while the audience becomes observers. The experience is heightened by a blend of visual, auditory, and sensory elements like heat and steam, creating a fully immersive atmosphere. The structure, reminiscent of ancient ruins, is made of hazel wood, symbolizing the essence of the Russian village. The Bathhouse/Forum has since evolved into a new place of power and a meeting point in Nikola-Lenivets.
