The Thunderstorm is one of the most popular plays by Alexander Ostrovsky.
Right after it was first stages in 1859 in the theaters of Moscow and St. Petersburg, it was much talked of by dramatic critics and the audience. Since then, every stage director has been finding something of his/her own in the play, which makes it always up-to-date. In this case, the director and his troupe took their chance to meditate about the people that don’t fit into the existing paradigm and suffer from that.
