About the project (provided by the applicant)
In this proposal, the author compares the natural and artificially created architectural environment. She believes that further research and advanced technologies development in this area of focus can result in architectural projects that will be not only functional but will harmoniously interact with the environment. Soviet architect Yuri Lebedev studied bionics through the prism of kinetic architecture — he analyzed how eagles fly and aerodynamic properties of flight. The author of the project took on this research and continued it.
Inspired by Epicopeia butterfly as a biosimilar, she tried to represent its movement and flight, to repeat its folding forewings and hind wings.
