Project
Redevelopment of New Admiralty Island: Campus of Shipbuilding University and Museum of Shipbuilding of Baltic Fleet

Nomination
Best Student’s Architectural Project

About the project
The project redevelops 17 hectares of New Admiralty Island located at the mouth of the Big Neva River.

The key concept of establishing the shipbuilding museum and the students campus involves functional division of the premises by the channel. The project provides for its recovery and beautification with a new green recreation zone for the citizens.

Thus, the Eastern part of the island will belong to the campus, and the Western – to the museum (its exposition located in historical sheds).

It is also proposed to extend Galernaya Street and end it with an industrial dominant – an existing crane.

On the side of the Gulf of Finland, the project provides for a sharp-angled dynamic composition, made with roof elements and landscaping facilities.

New campus buildings are design made of brick to match the existing industrial development in terms of architecture.
