Project
House with a Mezzanine

Nomination
Best Built Private Residence

About the project
This country house of 437 m2 is located in the Leningrad Region close to St. Petersburg, with an extensive ground floor, and a smaller first floor. Thanks to that feature, the house has a complex roofing, which shapes some rooms in the attic, catching the eye.

Most of the rooms in the building are located under an inclined roofing, which makes the building integral both on the outside and the inside. There are no boarded ceilings – this was the wish of the customer.

Exterior details and the finishing in general are made with stone, wood, and plastering. These materials refer to works by Modern Age masters (Guimard, Mansart).

The architects demonstrated how traditional house shapes can be interpreted without overwhelming it with excessive details.
