The International Council of the Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design was joined by Sergey Kuznetsov, Chief Architect of Moscow, Vice Chairman of the Architectural and Urban Planning Committee of Moscow, Chairman of the Architectural Council of Moscow.

We’ve been holding architectural contests with international participation in Moscow for a long time, and we can see with our own eyes how it contributes to the projects’ quality.”
Sergey Kuznetsov was born in Moscow in 1977. In 2001, he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Architecture. From 2003, he has been the partner and general director of S.P.Project Studio. In 2006, this studio joined the SPEECH Tchoban & Kuznetsov Concern, where Sergey Kuznetsov was the managing partner till 2012. In 2010, 2012, and 2016, he was a participant, co-curator, and curator of the Russian Pavilion exposition at the Venice Architecture Biennale. In 2012, Sergey Kuznetsov took the post of Chief Architect and Vice Chairman of the Architectural and Urban Planning Committee of Moscow. As Chief Architect, he directed designer teams reconstructing the Luzhniki Big Sports Arena for the 2018 World Football Cup, the Zariadye Park with a concert hall, and the Rhythmic Gymnastics Palace of Irina Viner-Usmanova.
Sergey Kuznetsov is Honorary Professor of the Moscow Institute of Architecture, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts (Architecture Department), holds the Medal of the Order of Merits for Russia, 2nd Degree, for his work in the field of architecture and urban planning. Prize winner of the Ken Roberts Memorial Delineation Competition and the American Society of Architectural Illustrators (ASAI) Contest.
The International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design is named after Domenico Trezzini (1670—1734), the first architect of St. Petersburg and the founder of Petrine Baroque. The Awards has been held in St. Petersburg since 2018, supported by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg, the Embassy of Russia to Switzerland, the Embassy of Switzerland to Russia, the Union of Architects of Russia, the Architectural Council of Moscow, and other Russian and international authorities.
The motto of the Awards is “Architecture as Art.” The Awards is intended to scout for architectural, designer and restoration projects that in terms of artistic value can be regarded as works of art. The Golden Trezzini’s work shall be coordinated by the International Council, chaired by Mikhail Piotrovsky, President of the World Club of St. Petersburgers and General Director of the State Hermitage. The Awards Jury includes 150+ experts from 27 countries.
The winners will be awarded with Domenico Trezzini golden figurines on December 1 in St. Petersburg. The best projects submitted by the participants of the Golden Trezzini-2020 will be showcased at an exhibition in the Peter and Paul Fortress, and then added to the collection of the State Museum of St. Petersburg History.
Entries for the Thirds International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and design can be submitted at www.goldtrezzini.ru till October 15, 2020. Participation in the Awards is free of charge.
