Project
San Benito County Library
Nomination
Best Project of Public Space by a Student
About the project
The building’s bird-like shape refers to Hollister, a clothing brand with a seagull as its symbol. The entrance hall features an open exhibition space and places for rest. It comprises a lobby, a cloakroom, and a ticket office and leads to the buffet, the elevator hall, the bathroom and the central staircase hall – the highlight of the atrium space. In the atrium, there is a public event foyer and a recreation area. The 1st floor houses a reading section for children and groups of visitors. Another reading space is located on the 2nd floor, together with an interactive reading area.
