Project
Experimental residential district in Sestroretsk

Nomination
Best Architectural Project by a Student

About the project
To consider if high-rise wooden house-building could be adopted in Russia, as wood is the best choice as long as sustainable architecture is implied, the author designed a residential house of Cross Laminated Timber panels. The building has several sections of 3 to 5 floors and a maintenance basement. The basement and the underground parking are made of reinforced concrete. The bottom line of the building is clad with natural stone, wood lath panels above it. The accessible flat roofs of the house are designed as double-pitch ones to offer a reference to country houses and villas.
