About the project
This project in the State Hermitage is dedicated to the 500th death day of Raphael and tells about various authors he inspired throughout the last 5 centuries. The architects wanted to demonstrate succession between ages and one century passing into the other, and that’s why they united the exposition with a line that became the key metaphor, symbolizing the dialogue between Raphael and other artists. The exhibition is arranged in the Nevskaya Enfilade, encompassing the Anteroom with its malachite rotunda, the Nicholas hall with its white walls and Corinthian orders, and the Concert hall housing the tomb of Alexander Nevsky. Their specifics were considered during the design process.
