Category
Best Project of Public Building or Facility

About the project
Areas left over from closed industries are known as post-industrial landscapes, which are the cultural heritage of the modern era. These types of places are an integral part of the identity of cities and the memories of communities. Due to the complexities and damage to the ecosystem, these heritage areas require a comprehensive and integrated approach to restoration. The regenerative design and development approach goes beyond environmental and sustainability approaches. By participation of experts, designers and a systematic approach, it offers a multifaceted plan to the capacities of place to promote the coexistence of humans and nature. Regeneration of the cement factory is based on a comprehensive framework. This framework includes environmental, social, cultural, educational, economical and infrastructural flows in addition to resources, health and people engagement. Solutions are proposed to repair the damage and create a multifaceted landscape toward a sustainable future.
