About the project
Ruined facilities are remains of unique works of art that feature a connection of generations and stayed at the turn of the centuries. Renovation provides for keeping the existing pieces and restoration of their shapes by means of the modern architecture – or reintegration of the ruins. The result presents a unique facility, a combination of new and old architecture without forging the history.
To demonstrate this method, the author designed the project of the ruined Chiesa Diruta church – the key landmark of the town of Grottole, Italy.
