About the project
Lord of the Flies is a two-act play based on the William Golding’s novel of the same name.
A group of teenagers from a church choir find themselves stranded on an uninhabited island after their plane crashes. However, what started as a lot of fun without moralising grownups turns into lots of difficulties and fears the boys have to face. They soon split into two opposing camps.
Intoxicated by freedom, the teens become a threat to both each other and themselves. At some point, their innocence gives way to violence.
The stage designer and the director urbanized the island, partly placing the characters into rundown areas of a city to convey the message that such a thing can happen to everyone even today.
