Project
Lies, or Baron Munchausen’s Last Will
Category
Best Implemented Theatre Set Design
About the project
When the play and its scenic design were in process, it became quite obvious that they wouldn’t do without an air balloon.
Baron Munchausen’s lies were his way of escaping the reality he was unable to change. In the performance, the director wanted to demonstrate that the world was different, to showcase a visual inner blast that shocks not only the characters, but the audience, too. During their air balloon voyage the characters are happy as kids, but as soon as they land, they once again are their sordid vile selves. And here comes the dreadful finale.
