Project
Water line
Category
Best Implemented Project of Temporary or Permanent Museum Exposition
About the project
This is the only permanent art installation in an underground parking with live epiphyte plants – orchids — that need neither earth, no water. This public art work revitalizes the dull urban space and changes people’s attitude to it. Using water lines, the artist establishes connections between this urbanistic parking and nature. Futuristically lit bubbling water runs down the pipes to phytotrons with levitating plants. It looks like this is real water that feeds them, but it is not so. The name is symbolical, as the parking is located below the level of the Moscow River.
