Art and Culture Center of the Royal Road: Assuming architecture as a claim for memory
Category
Best Project of Building or Facility by Student
About the project
The project presents a development of tactical and architectural urbanism that includes Andean culture. The aim is to preserve the historic center of the place and the region, while also exploring economic potentialization based on festivals and customs, in order to achieve the diversification of services as centrality. The goal is to find a balance between tourism and preserving the historical memory of the area. To achieve this, several collective strategies will be developed within the concurrent design at different scales of action. The main focus of study will be the stone and tectonic architecture of the contemporary and historical world, with a particular focus on the original culture of Latin America, including its characteristics, symbolism, and rites.
