About the project
The design paradigm of the local museum in the town of Jasay finds its foundation in the enigmatic phenomenon of the nomadic dune that transcends the wilderness of La Guajira. Its morphology, sculpted by the erosive action of wind winds, moves migratory from the coast, rising sinuously in two dune elevations plastered by vivid strata of sandy granules. The project conception calls for contemplation, inquiry and safeguarding of the tangible and intangible heritage. The building structure incorporates a fibrous framework of reinforced concrete made of fiberglass, whose skin is covered with fiberglass reinforced with polyester. The curtain wall-type envelope system, made up of thermopanel glass, acts as a barrier against the entry of thermal radiation into the interior enclosure.
