Project
North-Western Institute of Management – Reconstruction of the academic building
Category
Best Implemented Reconstruction Project
About the project
The building constructed in 1881 that used to be an alms-house and a school has been recognized as cultural heritage site. In 2020—2023 it was reconstructed and readjusted to become the academic block for the North-Western Institute of Management, a branch of RANEPA.
For the first time in St. Petersburg, pseudo-cable system was used as a gentler method to prevent progressive collapsing of this listed facility.
The varied history of the building required partial dismantling and subsequent thorough restoration of the historical interiors. Finally, the facades have retained their original appearance.
This project features a perfect balance between the historical looks and the new function of the building.
