There is only one month left to submit projects for the International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design. The application period for the seventh edition of the awards closes on September 15. The Awarding Ceremony of the “architectural Oscars” will take place on November 15 at the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. Winners who can’t attend will receive their awards by mail.

Ars Vivendi. Frans Snyders and Seventeenth-Century Flemish Still Lifes (Russia), The State Hermitage, artists Emil Kapelush and Yury Suchkov. “Best Implemented Project of Temporary or Permanent Museum Exposition” category.

Established in 2018, the Golden Trezzini Awards are named after Domenico Trezzini (1670—1734), the first architect of St. Petersburg. The awards are organized by the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club, with Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum, serving as the Honorary Chairman of the International Council of the Awards.
The contest’s motto is “Architecture as Art.” Applicants can compete in 18 main and 7 special categories, including two for architecture students.

Penghu County Government Green Energy Sustainability Center (Taiwan), Tsai Tung-Lin. “Best Project of Public Building or Facility” category.

Pavel Chernyakov, Chairman of the Golden Trezzini Awards Organizing Committee, says: “Our goal is not only to identify and encourage talented nominees but also to give their works the status of museum pieces. The winners will have a unique opportunity—their projects will be included in the architectural graphics fund of the State Museum of St. Petersburg History and will be exhibited at the annual ‘Architecture as Art’ exhibition at the Peter and Paul Fortress.”

Strelka Complex in Yaroslavl — Regeneration (Russia), Makar Kiselev and Viktoria Puzyrenko, Yaroslavl State Engineering University. “Best Project of Public Space by Student” category.

The organizers have already received more than 300 entries from 34 countries. So far, the most projects for the Domenico Trezzini statuette have been submitted by participants from Iran, Mexico, and Russia. The submitted projects cover almost all areas of creative activity related to architecture as an art: building and structure design, restoration, interior design, architectural ceramics, set design, exhibition design, urban sculpture, and many others.

Saffron penthouse interiors (Russia), Oleg Klodt Architecture Bureau. “Best Implemented Apartment / Private House Interior Design Project” category.

From 2018 to 2023, a prestigious jury evaluated 4,200 projects from 112 countries. More than 160,000 people participated in the online voting to determine the winner of the “People’s Choice Award.”
