Entries for 2021 Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design are open as from today at goldtrezzini.ru. We invite nominees from all over the world: developers and planners, architects and renovators, designers and interior decorators, as well as students of architecture schools and departments. Participation is free of charge.
The Golden Trezzini Awards, being held under the motto 'Architecture as Art', is taking place for the 4th time this year. The main objective of the Awards is to acknowledge and promote architectural and designer projects that amount to works of art.
In 2021, several new nominations are introduced within the Awards. 'Best Implemented Theatre Set Design' and 'Best Design Project for Library' are among the new competition categories. Besides, a special 'Genius Petropolis' ('Spirit of St. Petersburg') award has been established by the World Club of Petersburgers in honour of Valentina Orlova (1946—2021), the first Chairwoman of the Board of the Club. The award is to be given to the author of the architectural or restoration project that complies best with the spirit and traditions of St. Petersburg, chosen by a World Club of Petersburgers' panel of experts.
The deadline for entries is October 1. All the projects approved for participation will be assessed by the Qualification Committee, which will select three finalists in each of the main categories. Next, the winners will be determined by the voting of the Jury, involving more than 200 experts from 31 countries.
A special Premio del Pubblico award will be given to a project selected through Facebook users' voting arranged at goldtrezzini.ru.
2021 Golden Trezzini winners will be announced and awarded in November at the Mikhailovsky Theatre, St. Petersburg. The best projects by competitors will be added to the collection of the Architectural Graphics Fund of the Museum of St. Petersburg History and take part in an annual «Architecture as Art» exhibition at the Peter and Paul Fortress.
