There are only two months left until the deadline for the 7th International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design. Applicants from 26 countries are already vying for the gilded statuettes of St. Petersburg’s first architect, Domenico Trezzini.

“More than 170 projects from 26 countries have already been accepted for the awards. Among the applicants, there are nominees from Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, China, Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Iran, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, USA, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Yemen,” says Pavel Chernyakov, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Golden Trezzini Awards. “The leaders in the number of entries are Russia, Iran, and India.”

The Golden Trezzini Awards are the official awards of the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club. The Awards are held under the motto “Architecture as Art” with the support of the State Hermitage Museum, the Russian Museum, the State Historical Museum of St. Petersburg, as well as embassies and consulates of a number of foreign countries.

The competition includes 18 main categories for architects, restorers, interior designers, exhibition and stage designers, sculptors, and architecture students. Among the special categories is the People’s Choice Award, the winner of which is selected by visitors of the Golden Trezzini website.

Exhibition in Arkhangelsk Youth Theater (Russia). Tochka Designa bureau. “Best Implemented Project of Temporary or Permanent Museum Exposition” category.
The peculiarity of the Golden Trezzini is its official museum status. Thanks to an agreement with the Museum of History of St. Petersburg, which has the richest collection of architectural graphics of the 18th-21st centuries, the winning projects of the Golden Trezzini Awards will become museum exhibits and apply for inclusion in the State Register of Museum Treasures.
Prof. Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum, is the Honorary Chairman of the International Council of the Awards. The jury is composed of more than 200 experts from 33 countries.

The Golden Trezzini Awards ceremony will traditionally take place on November 15 at the State Hermitage Museum and will be broadcast on the official channel of the Awards in Russian and English. According to the Organizing Committee, this is a unique opportunity for the laureates to present their works at a high international level, emphasizing their historical, cultural, scientific, and artistic value.

The application for the awards is free of charge. It requires filling in an electronic application form on the official website of the Golden Trezzini. The deadline for submissions is September 15, 2024.
