2021 Golden Trezzini Awards nominees: 300 and keep counting

The number of projects participating in the 4^th International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design has exceeded 300. Applications will continue until October 1 this year.

2021 Golden Trezzini Awards nominee: Antuo Hill Museums (Guangdong, China), LLLab design studio.

Two months before the end of the acceptance of works, the list of countries where the nominated projects have been implemented or are intended for implementation has already become more extensive than that of the entire Golden Trezzini Awards in 2020. Last year, projects from 59 countries participated in the competition.

Projects from 66 countries have already been accepted for the 2021 Golden Trezzini Awards. These are Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Italy , Korea, Latvia, Lebanon, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore , Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, USA, and Uzbekistan.

This year, the Golden Trezzini Awards accept projects created or implemented in 2019—2021. Along with the works by architects and interior designers, landscape architecture projects, implemented restoration projects, exhibition design projects and theatre set designs can take part in the respective categories. Two categories are reserved specifically for students’ projects – this practice started at the moment when the Golden Trezzini Awards were established three years ago.

Besides winning in their particular categories, the participants have a chance to receive one of the special awards. Special expert groups will select the holders of the Genius Petropolis medal named after Valentina Orlova, the first Chairwoman of the Board of the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club, for the architectural or restoration project complies best with the spirit and traditions of St. Petersburg, and the Lazar Khidekel Prize for the best innovative architectural project. Voting of the Golden Trezzini website users will determine the winner of the Premio del Pubblico “people’s choice” award. The winners in all the major and special categories of the 2021 Golden Trezzini will be announced on November 15 during the Gala ceremony at the Mikhailovsky theatre.

The Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design are named after Domenico Trezzini (1670—1734), Russian architect of Swiss origin, the first architect of St. Petersburg. The main objective of the Awards is turning the most artistically valuable architectural, design, restoration, scenography, and exhibition projects into museum objects. The Honorary Chairman of the International Council for the Golden Trezzini Awards is Mikhail Piotrovsky, President of the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club and General Director of the State Hermitage.

The best projects by competitors will be added to the collection of the Architectural Graphics Fund at the Museum of St. Petersburg History and take part in an annual exhibition at the Peter and Paul Fortress. Applications are open till October 1, 2021.

2021 Golden Trezzini Awards winners will be awarded in November during the Gala-Night at the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
