The 3rd International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design led by the Honourary Chairman of the Awards Jury Mr. Roger M. Kull, Consul General of Switzerland in St. Petersburg, will take place in St. Petersburg from April 15 to December 1, 2020.
The 1st Golden Trezzini took place in 2018, bringing together 170 nominees from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The 2nd Awards of 2019 became national and offered international participation, having received 350 entries from 50+ cities and regions of Abkhazia, Belarus, Finland, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Russia, South Korea, and the UAE. In 2020, the Golden Trezzini was officially granted the international status, supported by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg.
The 3rd Golden Trezzini will be arranged in two stages. Entries will be accepted at www.goldtrezzini.ru from April 15 through October 15, 2020. A full list of categories will be posted on the first day of entry acceptance. Finalists of the 1st stage will be shortlisted by the Qualification Committee from May 15 through November 2. The finalists will be announced on November 5. From November 6 through 20, projects submitted by the finalists will be evaluated by the Jury comprising 60+ experts from France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, and the USA. The Jury will vote online, and will be audited by the Borenius legal company. The Awards procedures will be coordinated by the Golden Trezzini International Council.
On December 1 during the Awarding Ceremony in St. Petersburg, winners and awardees will be announced and presented with designer Golden Trezzini figurines and certificates. Works submitted by the winners will be showcased at an annual exhibition in the Peter and Paul Fortress, as well as added to the collection of the State Museum of St. Petersburg History.
Let us remind you that the international Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design is named after Domenico Trezzini (1670—1734), the first architect of St. Petersburg originating from Switzerland. The Awards is supported by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg, the Embassy of Russia to Switzerland, the Embassy of Switzerland to Russia, the Consulate General of Switzerland in St. Petersburg, the Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture (KGA), the Committee for State Supervision, Use and Protection of Cultural and Historical Landmarks (KGIOP), the Global Club of St. Petersburgers, the Russian Union of Architects, and the St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPbGASU).
The mission of the Awards is to acknowledge and promote architectural, designer, and renovation projects that can be regarded as artwork in terms of the artistic value.
The Arrangement Committee of the Golden Trezzini 2020 invites nominees from across the globe – developers and designers, architects and renovators, designers and decorators, as well as students of architectural schools and departments. Participation in the Awards is free of charge.
