Mikhail Levin, Director of Moscow School of Contemporary Art, joins the Golden Trezzini Awards Jury

The Third Golden Trezzini Awards welcome a new Jury member: Mikhail Levin, Director of Moscow School of Contemporary Art, has joined the expert panel of the international competition. The School has become an Awards’ partner.

“Fine arts have always been tightly connected with architecture, and as far as contemporary art is concerned, comprehension and arrangement in terms of space has become one of the major components of the artistic practice in the recent 60 years,” Mikhail Levin says, “I am jubilant over having this Awards, supporting and bringing up a new generation of creative people, with whom we will build the cultural environment of the future.”

Mikhail Levin is the Director of Moscow School of Contemporary Art, programme leader of CPD Contemporary art, artist. Graduate of Slade School of Fine Art, UCL (BA (Hons) Fine Art) and Royal Drawing School (Postgraduate Diploma). He curated a number of international exhibitions.

Moscow School of Contemporary Art is a faculty of the Universal University. It is a continuation and development of, more than 10 years of experience, in the field of fine art and international education at the British Higher School of Art and Design. Throughout this period the school has collaborated with many key art institutions in Russia, the UK and beyond. The school offers educational programmes in conjunction with the British Higher School of Art and Design, as well as new short-term and long-term programmes in various formats in the field of art management, art business and curating.

The International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design are named after Domenico Trezzini (1670—1734), the first architect of St. Petersburg and the founder of Petrine Baroque. The Awards have been held since 2018 under the patronage of the Municipality of the City of Lugano and supported by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg, the Embassy of Russia in Switzerland, the Embassy of Switzerland in Russia, Department of Culture and Tourism — Abu Dhabi, and a number of other Russian and international organisations and institutions. The motto of the Awards is “Architecture as Art.” The Awards are intended to acknowledge and promote architectural and designer projects that amount to works of art. The Honorary Chairman of the International Council of the Awards is Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the State Hermitage, St. Petersburg. Among the Council’s members, there are directors of a number of leading art museums from Russia, Europe and the USA, academic leaders, public officials, and diplomatic representatives. The Jury includes worldly famous architects Daniel Libeskind, Mario Botta, Toyo Ito, Ricardo Bofill, Massimiliano Fuksas, Eduardo Souto de Moura, Chief Design Officer of Ferrari Flavio Manzoni, and other experts from 30 countries.

Entries for the Third International Golden Trezzini Awards can be submitted at www.goldtrezzini.ru/en/. 160+ projects from Argentina, Australia, Belarus, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, Japan, India, Iran, Italy, Latvia, Lebanon, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Syria, the UAE, and the USA are approved for participation at the moment.
