A symposium on the revival of historical heritage was held at Mariinsky Palace. The event took place in the Small Meeting Hall of Mariinsky Palace in St. Petersburg, formerly the library of Duke of Leuchtenberg. The symposium focused on the pressing issues of restoration and interior design in historical buildings.

The event was organized by the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club in collaboration with the St. Petersburg Parliament (Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg) and the organizing committee of the Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design.

Vera Sergeeva, a member of the St. Petersburg parliament, participated in the meeting and delivered a welcome address on behalf of Alexander Belsky, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg:

«Efforts to revive cultural heritage sites in our city, led by the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club and the Golden Trezzini International Awards, have become a cherished tradition. Such initiatives are deeply appreciated by the residents of the Northern Capital and all of Russia. Meetings like this symposium help develop new approaches to preserving cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations.»

Participants of the symposium were informed about the history of Mariinsky Palace and the restoration of the Small Meeting Hall, which previously housed the library of Duke Leuchtenberg. The partial reconstruction was completed in January of this year, with craftsmen working from a historical photograph from the 1880s. The new bookcases now house rare editions from the 18th to 20th centuries. Today, the hall hosts official parliamentary events and cultural-educational gatherings.
