Kommersant North-West Newspaper Becomes Media Partner of the Golden Trezzini Awards

The Kommersant North-West (Kommersant Severo-Zapad) newspaper and the 9th International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design have signed an information partnership agreement.

Kommersant North-West is a regional edition of the Kommersant Publishing House, covering key developments in economics, politics, culture, and public life across Saint Petersburg and the Northwestern Federal District. Founded in 1993 as Kommersant Saint Petersburg, the outlet was renamed Kommersant North-West in 2025 to reflect its expanded regional coverage. The Editor-in-Chief is Andrey Ershov. Under the partnership, readers of Kommersant North-West will gain deeper insight into the Golden Trezzini Awards, its nominees and winners, international architecture, design, and restoration projects, as well as the ongoing development of the concept of “architectural diplomacy”.

About the Awards
Established in 2018, the International Golden Trezzini Awards for Architecture and Design are named after Domenico Trezzini (1670–1734), the first architect of Saint Petersburg. The Golden Trezzini is the official award of the Worldwide St. Petersburg Club. Its motto is “Architecture as Art.” The principal trophy is a gilded figurine of Domenico Trezzini crafted by the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory.

A hallmark of the awards is that winning projects are inducted into the permanent collection of the State Museum of the History of Saint Petersburg and are showcased annually at the “Architecture as Art” exhibition.

Since its inception, the competition has received more than 6,400 entries from 114 countries. The international jury includes over 200 leading experts from 35 nations. Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the State Hermitage Museum, serves as the Honorary Chairman of the International Council.

Entries for the 9th season are accepted until September 15, 2026. Participation is free of charge. The award ceremony will take place on November 20, 2026, at the State Hermitage Museum.
