This is one of the most romantic comedies created by William Shakespeare. The play consists of several interconnecting plots with most of the action occurs in the woodland realm of Fairyland, under the light of the moon. Peter Quince and his fellow players plan to put on a play for the wedding of Duke Theseus of Athens and the Amazon queen Hippolyta — a comedy about Pyramus and Thisbe.
This phantasmagoric story is presented to the audience in as phantasmagoric decorations. There are lamps all around the stage that look like fireflies, and the purple flowers make the setting for the play.
