The River That Was a City: the Zayandeh Rud was Isfahan's lifeblood. Its historic bridges were the heart of urban life—places for conversation, rest, and daily ritual. But the city surrendered to the car. The river became a wound, contemporary bridges mere concrete ribbons for speed, devoid of human scale or pause.
This adaptive extension answers Isfahan's longing for water and life. A Place for Us reimagines the river as living space—a bridge defined by water, memory, and people. Its purpose: to restore being in place, and become truly a place for us.
