About the project
The designer was happy to win this order, and he did a very thorough research of the writer’s biography. The place where the memorial was to be installed wasn’t chosen at random -  this was where Alexander Grinevsky (who wrote under the pseudonym of ‘Grin’) had been born, where the main street of his ‘Grinland’ ran. The author wanted his work to symbolize the starting point of the writer’s career, and that is why the memorial is so dynamic. It looks like a gust of wind is going to blow the seated figure off and send it down the road.
