About the project
This building was constructed for a family of 5. Here, we developed the Viking House concept. The roof is shaped like a drakkar upside down, reminding that Vikings used to beach their drakkars and overwinter on land. As if put for drying, the building stands on supports. However, it isn’t just for symbolism – floods are rather typical here. This is why the zero level of the building – the level actually used by people – is, in fact, located at the first floor. The lower part of the building houses all the technical premises and a SPA zone. The building is finished with shingles, wood and natural stone, as well as many elements with relevant symbols.
Besides the main building, the complex features two other blocks. Inside the “mill” there is a watch tower, and another high-rise dominant is a “lighthouse” at the water.
