The architectural form of the art center is shaped by the interaction between its massing and the key spaces of the city block.
From the side of the existing context, the building visually grounds itself on the adjacent volume, establishing a more restrained base from which the architectural form gradually gathers dynamic momentum.
The folded geometry of the roof and varying building heights generate an expressive silhouette oriented toward the main street. As one moves along it, the building unfolds sequentially in perspective, establishing the art center as one of the block’s key visual landmarks.
The primary cantilevered overhang follows its own orientation, facing the main pedestrian street within the block. Serving as the final element of the composition, this dynamic projection opens toward the flow of pedestrians, creating a striking focal point on the approach to the building.
