Our architectural bureau, Tectonika, participated in the development of the design project. We were tasked with creating a new museum space design within the famous Rotunda — the Church of Saint Catherine, built from a design by architect Nikolay Lvov. The design solutions had to account for the specific nature of the exhibition, which showcases the sounds of bells. The museum features various types of Russian bells, including not only church bells, but also alarm bells (nabatnye), ship's bells (ryndy), stagecoach bells (yamskie kolokol'chiki), fire bells, and others. Special seating has been designed for guests, allowing visitors not just to look, but to listen closely and immerse themselves in the world of bell ringing.
