Project
Recreation of the Historical Architectural Environment of the Bukharan Settlement
Category
Best Restoration or Reconstruction Project by Student
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The project proposes the recreation of the historical appearance of Tyumen, specifically the restoration of unique wooden architectural landmarks that have been lost over time, including the «Silver House,» the «Turquoise House,» and houses on Khokhryakova and Chelyuskintsev streets. One of the former Bukharan Settlement quarters, bordered by Beregovaya, Angarskaya, Bolshaya Zarechnaya, and Shcherbakova streets, will serve as a site for these restored buildings, fully realizing the vision of historical reconstruction.
The recreated structures will be adapted to contemporary urban needs, housing dining establishments of various levels, museum spaces, and multifunctional venues. The project creates a relevant and comfortable historical-architectural environment based on the interaction between the «old and the new.» This approach not only preserves the region’s history and unique landmarks but also establishes a new, significant public space for the city.
