About the project
The café was designed for a picturesque natural woodland of the Hotel and Wellness Complex Sokol, with reference to the Soviet monumental construction traditions. The mountain slope covered with woods and full of fresh air and bird warble inspires to reunite with nature, which is possible thanks to the façade, transparent as much as possible.
The main project tasks were to keep the ensemble integral, to refer to the game as a meaning-making principle of the 21stcentury and of this facility, in particular, as well as use of modern technologies and convenience for people.
A combination of key features of the Avant-Garde architecture – use in the first place, concept in the second, and beauty in the third – were reoriented toward aesthetics, which didn’t give place to utility and other features.
