FORTUNATA, adj. fem. from the Italian language: one that has been touched by luck. A house built around a tree where reason is the main instrument in the search for the spirit of living.
Located in the cold climate of southern Brazil, Fortunata House is a project that shows the essential activities of Architecture: the careful reading of the environmental conditions; the precise determination of the construction processes; the correct resolution of the program of needs; and the harmony of the built forms.

Applicant and author of the project
Luciano Lerner Basso holds a degree in Architecture from PUC-RS (2003); an and a master’s degree in Architectural Design from Mackenzie (2015). He was awarded the Opera Prima Prize (2003); selected to represent Brazil at the Oscar Niemeyer Award (2020); he was invited to participate in the panorama of works for the 10th Ibero-American Architecture and Urbanism Biennial (2016); his work has been selected for the International Architecture Biennials of São Paulo (2005), Brasília (2007), Buenos Aires (2018).
