Project
Chapel near Snyatnaya Gora built in the 18th century — preservation
Category
Best Implemented Restoration Project
About the project
The monument is part of the ensemble of the Snetogorsk Monastery dating back to the 14-16 centuries. The rarely encountered shape of a religious architecture monument resembles a secular building, dominating in the surrounding area.
The chapel was severely damaged during the Great Patriotic War, and the first restoration works took place in 1962.
The new restoration projects included readjustment of the monument for today’s use. Special attention was paid to the delicate landscaping and beautification of the adjacent grounds.
