About the Project
The project entails building a cluster of educational institutions for young learners on the abandoned premises of Paramonovsky warehouses. There will be art, music, dancing and drama schools, a museum of fine arts, a Rostov-on-Don history museum, an exhibition centre, an open air stage, a “Fountain Square” with spring water, “Cascade Waterfalls”, as well as viewpoints for plein airpainting classes.
The ruins of buildings are to be preserved and will remain in their present state. The project provides for new frames with ceilings and stained-glass windows on the roofs of the existing buildings. New academic buildings will perfectly fit into the existing environment. The pitched and flat roofs of schools resemble steppe kurgans with traditional vegetation of crops and other typical plants. The facades will be made of mirrored stained-glass with decorative sun protection elements, reminding of the old grain Paramonov storehouses.
