About the project
The exhibition represents history of the Ladoga-based churches and monasteries and tells the audience about the part of Christianity in human life from the Conversion of Russia till nowadays. There is a collection of renovated icons along with the pieces of frescoes from 6 famous stone temples at Ladoga, dating back to the 12th century; the reliquary cross from the 9th through 10th century; the leaden stamp of Alexander Nevsky, an old marriage record, and a metric register fro the 19th century. Extended with illustrations and multimedia interactive materials, the place invites every visitor to try hand in icon renovation – in a special app.
