Ciudad del Fuego is a adaptive reuse project that transforms a former winery into a museum celebrating the culture and traditions of Valencia, with the heritage of the Las Fallas festival taking center stage. Sculptural figures created for the festival are housed within the existing niches along the historic building's perimeter, seamlessly integrating the winery's original architecture into the museum display.
The central volume remains flexible and adaptable, shifting effortlessly to accommodate changing exhibitions, festival gatherings, lectures, and civic functions. Creative laboratories, workshops, a café, and retail spaces complete the program.
The key spatial narrative is defined by an illuminated pathway that winds through the grounds, penetrates the building, and guides visitor flow. A new glass stylobate creates an open, transparent ground floor, anchored by vaults crafted from recycled wine bottles via 3D printing—a modern intervention that bridges the new architecture with the site's winemaking past.
