Sloenka was conceived as a coffee shop chain centered on traditional European pastries, its name inherently evocative of warmth, rich aromas, and the satisfying crunch of fresh baked goods. For the inaugural location in Yerevan, we developed a distinct spatial language: architectural arches, a red metallic ribbon carrying light fixtures through the interior, mirrored surfaces, and a featured artwork originally created for the historic Yerevan Brandy Company. The primary terracotta palette draws directly from Armenian tufa stone and the city’s historic facade colors, while subtle green and blue accents mirror the harmony between urban architecture, lush vegetation, and the sky.
In the second Sloenka location, these signature motifs are revisited within a character-rich historic setting. The building’s original features—a tufa facade, stained glass, trailing grapevine motifs, and an antique molded ceiling—were meticulously cleaned and preserved. Against this rich heritage backdrop, the contemporary furniture and lighting elements achieve a striking, refined presence.
