Best Implemented Interior Design Project for Public Space
About the project (provided by the applicant)
The Pavilion serves as an exploration into two contrasting worldviews and attitudes towards life, utilizing tiles as its primary medium. The first space encountered within the pavilion is dedicated to extrospection. In this area, the observer is presented a world with a spectrum of vibrant hues, where the wheel of time appears to advance, symbolizing progress and development. In contrast, the second space is dedicated to introspection, where the focus turns inward, with monotone space as all colors are inside you. Here, time is perceived as more circular, rather than linear, as symbolized by the round disc placed under the Buddha sculpture. Additionally, this space features a small room with a throne-like chair, symbolizing historical tension between, Buddha’s father, the king of a state and Buddha the ruler of all the times and space. The box enclosing the throne chair represents the limits of his earthly dominion in contrast to the floor seating Buddha with all time under his feet.
