Category Best Implemented Apartment / Private House Interior Design Project
About the project (provided by the applicant) The Contemporary Mexica Apartment by Adrián Gómez Art and Kauslab seamlessly fuses pre-Hispanic heritage with modern interior design, creating a space where history and contemporary living coexist. Located in Mexico City, it features custom wallpaper inspired by ancient Mexica patterns, contemporary furniture, and sculptural elements reflecting ancestral civilizations. Blown-glass bubbles with native minerals add texture and color, while artworks evoke landscapes, mythology, and sacred symbols. Natural materials—stone, clay, and wood—combine with geometric motifs, sacred animals, and deities, bridging past and present. Bold colors—red, ochre, and jade green—connect occupants to earth and sky, recalling murals and temples. Each element becomes a portal to Mesoamerica’s cultural and spiritual legacy, transforming the apartment into an immersive, symbolic, and functional tribute where aesthetic, ritual, and narrative converge in a timeless, contemporary living environment.
