About the project
The project included the re-design of the Minster Lovell Hall ruins into a series of
performance spaces that celebrate the English Folk dances and encourage the surrounding communities and tourist to learn of aforementioned traditions .
A small exhibition that explored the history and value of the english folk dance traditions would be included as a way of complementing the performance spaces.
Taking in mind the historic value of the ruins, the design will explore and prioritize the materiality of the site through a new structure that would improve the experience within the existing spaces. the idea of contrast between materials and architectural languages proved to be the real challenge in this project. This is showed through the design of the industrial-like high tech roof structure that expressed a bold yet sensitive design.
