Country house in Tuchkovo

Minimal design, eco-friendly materials, warmth, and seclusion.

Glazing plays a pivotal role in creating a seamless connection with nature. Panoramic sliding portal windows allow guests to take in the surrounding landscape in any weather. Positioned deliberately higher than usual—with their lower edge set at 1.5 meters—they flood the interior with light and air. One window doubles as a kitchen backsplash, while others are incorporated into the bathroom and the first-floor bedroom wardrobe area. Interior glass doors visually expand the space further.

The central focal point of the interior is an original fireplace-staircase built from dark, near-black chamotte brick. This striking structure integrates a working wood-burning fireplace, log storage, and a space-saving "alternating tread" (paddle) staircase leading to the second floor.

Another functional art object anchors the master bedroom: a bench crafted from a section of a tree once struck by lightning.
