About the project (provided by the applicant)
The complex is designed around a symmetrical axial composition, characteristic of the St. Petersburg architectural tradition. The site is divided into distinct zones: the main funeral area, a cemetery with three churches, and a public park that includes a two-level promenade along the Gulf of Finland and a symbolic «staircase to nowhere» at the tip of the spit, representing the philosophy of life after death.
The complex is conventionally split into four parts: the funeral procession area (featuring a covered columbarium and a funeral complex with a crematorium), the administrative zone (housing an administrative building, a forensic examination center, and a support facility), a flower farm located within a formal park, echoing St. Petersburg's landscape traditions, and a large pond, measuring 180 by 180 meters.
