Located within Zelyony Mys Park in the city of Murmansk, the complex embodies the "Ice Crown" concept, which unites two archetypes: the earth’s cover (rocks and ice floes) and the sky’s cover (the chum tent and stars). The concept is rooted in Sami mythology, transformed into architectural principles:
Peive (The Sun): Generates the sacred core—the central plaza.
Seid (The Sacred Stone): A monolith on the plaza serving as a focal point of attraction.
Myandash (The Path of Initiation): Defines varied route scenarios involving choice and discovery.
World Model: Vertically divides the complex into the stylobate (the lower world), the volumes (the middle world), and the skylights (the connection to the sky).
The culture of the Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of the North is inseparable from the stars, a connection materialized in the roof plan as a projection of constellations. Each volume represents its own world: the Orion Folklore Museum (spirit and myth), the Ursa Major Local Lore Museum (earth and material), the Cassiopeia Educational Center (knowledge and language), and the Lyra Concert Hall (sound).
