About the project (provided by the applicant)
The image of rays fanning out in different directions evokes a star, a radiant glow, or a burst of energy. Its beauty and lightness are best appreciated from above. For those approaching the building on foot – be they city residents, center’s employees, or visitors – the broad semicircular façade will look welcoming. This classical design technique is often employed to make significant public buildings face the city, while also organizing the flow of people entering and exiting. The semicircular form reflects the unique character of St. Petersburg, echoing the soft curves of its rivers, canals, and islands. These flowing shapes break up the city's rigid street grid, creating a theatrical effect across its main squares and façades.
